More on choosing

How to plan entryway storage

First, think about which items you have and how many. Heavy coats and down jackets need a deep section with a hanging rail; folded items need shelves and drawers; seasonal and occasional items can go in the overhead compartment.

Hinged doors need room to open: roughly the depth of the carcass plus the door width. In a narrow passage this gets in the way, so sliding doors are better — their panels run on tracks.

If there is enough space, a hinged model is simpler, more reliable and usually more affordable.

At the bottom, a shoe section with chipboard or pull-out shelves. Next to it, an open section with hooks and a bench — a convenient place to sit — and a console shelf for keys and a bag.

Chipboard is the most affordable option with a wide choice of décors; enamel comes in any RAL or NCS colour, matt or gloss, with optional routed detailing; veneer is natural wood, such as walnut. Colours range from white and beige to black and wenge; styles include modern, Provence and minimalist, with gloss or matt fronts and long handles. Hardware by Blum and Salice, soft-close drawers and push-to-open mechanisms.

Entryway storage furniture: how to choose

Different types suit the entryway: sliding doors, single- and double-door hinged models, corner designs, tall cabinets, display cabinets for accessories and built-in furniture. In purpose it is the same wardrobe or linen cupboard — it all depends on your preferences and the size of the hallway. Straight models are placed along the wall; a combined option pairs closed sections with open ones.

  • Hinged — a classic: simple mechanism and full access to the contents, provided there is space in front.
  • Sliding — saves space and suits narrow passages.
  • Built-in — walls, floor and ceiling replace its sides, base and top; the front looks the same as on a freestanding model.
  • Carcass — has its own back panel, top and sides, so it can be moved.
  • Corner — uses the “dead zone” of the corner that usually goes unused.

Price, design and how to buy

The price depends on dimensions, material, configuration and hardware. There are no hidden charges: the price is fixed once you approve the final sketch. To buy custom furniture, request a quote — our team will help you choose an option, including budget-friendly chipboard solutions. A designer consultation designer consultation is deducted from the order total. We also make bedside tables, chests of drawers and shelving in the same colour to match the wardrobe — entryway furniture can be bought as a set — contemporary and classic designs in one collection.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about custom furniture

Can't find an answer? Call us or send an enquiry — a designer will reply during business hours.

What types of entryway storage furniture do you make?

Hinged, sliding, corner, tall cabinets and built-in models, with open sections, a bench and an overhead compartment, left- and right-hand versions. All made to order to create more space at home; mini models are also available.

Narrow hallway: a hinged-door or sliding wardrobe?

If space in front of the wardrobe is limited, choose sliding doors: the panels run on tracks. Hinged doors need room to open — roughly the depth of the carcass plus the door width.

How does a built-in walk-in wardrobe differ from a freestanding one?

A built-in wardrobe is integrated into the architecture: walls, floor and ceiling can replace its sides, base and top. A carcass model is the familiar design with its own back panel, top and sides.

Can a shoe rack be built inside?

Yes: chipboard or pull-out shelves in the lower section. This keeps dirt away from the rest of your items.

How to care for entryway furniture?

Wipe the carcass and fronts with a soft cloth and a mild soap solution, avoiding abrasives and alkaline products. For sliding wardrobes, clean the tracks from time to time with a vacuum or a brush.

Are there hidden charges with affordable furniture?

No. The price is fixed after the final sketch is approved. Additional charges apply only if you choose to add or change something yourself.

How to buy and pay, and how long does it take to make?

Chipboard versions take from 3 weeks; with enamel or veneer fronts, around 2 months. A 70% deposit is required, with the remaining 30% due one week before completion; cash payments receive a 3% discount.
