Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about custom furniture

Can't find an answer? Call us or send an enquiry — a designer will reply during business hours.

How are MDF fronts different from chipboard?

MDF is a dense board that can be milled: it is used for panels, arches, slats and relief detailing, then painted with enamel. Chipboard only provides a smooth front. The carcass is often made from chipboard with MDF doors — such combined wardrobes balance practicality with expressive finishes.

What milling options are available?

Frame, classic panel, arch, vertical slat, milled detailing only on the lower part of the front. Wardrobes with milled detailing look equally good in classic and modern interiors.

What colours can the MDF be painted in?

Enamel in any colour: white, milk, grey-beige and grey shades, mocha, graphite, burgundy. We finish the coating in matte or gloss.

Which handles are suitable for MDF fronts?

Brass, bronze, wood, black recessed handles, with leather inserts or tassels. In Neuchâtel and Méribel, the handles are complemented by brass mouldings.

How many doors can a cabinet have?

Two-door, three-door, four-door and large full-wall wardrobes. Door sections can be complemented with a glass display cabinet with lighting, as in Vevey.

What height and depth can an MDF wardrobe be?

We set height and depth to suit the space: tall floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with top cabinets and cornice, shallow models for hallways. There is no upper size limit.

What should I store inside?

Clothing rails for hangers, shelving, drawers, trouser racks, mesh baskets. We design the interior layout around its purpose: wardrobes for the bedroom, hallway wardrobes with shoe shelves, living room wardrobes.

Can the wardrobe be built into a niche?

Yes, we fit an MDF wardrobe into a niche or between walls, and above the doorway we add an overhead cabinet in the same fronts.

How should MDF fronts be cared for?

Wipe with a soft damp cloth without abrasive products or solvents. The routered detailing is easy to clean with a soft brush.

Can MDF be combined with glass and veneer?

Yes, in the Zermatt model glass display doors, a slatted veneer front and a solid MDF door stand side by side. We show the material combination in 3D before production starts.

How much does an MDF wardrobe cost?

Prices in this section are available on request: the cost depends on dimensions, routered detailing, enamel colour and internal layout. Our team will prepare a quote for the wardrobe after the designer consultation; the cost depends on the location of the property.

What are the production times and payment terms?

We manufacture in our own workshop: chipboard models from 3 weeks; with enamel or veneer fronts, around 2 months after project approval. Payment in stages: 20% for documentation, 50% when production starts, 30% on completion.

Do you assemble wardrobes?

Furniture warranty — 2 years; Blum hardware — 25 years.
